Workshop for website "Casket" prepared by Ira, Vologda.

Decisively in every house there are lots of things that have nowhere to store. You can go and get a container for storing anything, but it is very difficult to choose a wardrobe trunk that is absolutely suitable for your interior in size, cost, and in most cases – by coloring.

Let’s make a luxurious wardrobe trunk for a certain interior using the example of transforming a banana cardboard box.

To do this, you will need:

– Cardboard box-

– Scissors for cutting cardboard –

– Aqueous emulsion paint of a suitable color –

– Two brushes: a medium-sized flatlet and a round small brush –

– Wallpaper glue –

– PVA glue-

– Drawings or wallpaper remnants for decoration.

Let’s start.

The box consists of two parts – the box itself and the lid of the same height as the box. We cut the lid around the perimeter to the height we need, leave 6-10 centimeters, it is important that the lid does not overlap the holes for transferring the box itself.

We cover the box with water-based paint on both sides. The products of any manufacturer are suitable, the box presented here is painted with TEKS acrylate super paint, it can be tinted, in other words, get any color we need by adding color. Usually on the container it is written whether the paint is tinted. We paint the main surface with a flat brush, corners, edges and cutouts with a small round brush. Apply the first coat of paint, wait for drying, then paint again. When the second layer dries, look for unpainted spots, eliminate defects. In the same way, paint the inner surface of the lid.

We cover the outside and sides of the cover with wallpaper, closing the hole on top so that dust does not get there. It’s great if there are wallpapers left over from pasting the walls in the room where the box will stand. Apply wallpaper glue to your type of wallpaper.
