In the hallway there are many necessary things that cannot be moved to another part of the house. In particular, outerwear occupies a large volume. And if in the summer it’s a pair of light jackets, then in all the remaining seasons, powerful coats and down jackets fill the whole place. Let’s start with a few tips on how to grow a little hall’s entrance visually, and then we’ll tell you how to better position your outerwear more aesthetically and comfortably.
We increase the place
If there is enough space in your hallway, it will be most convenient to install a wardrobe in which you can store outerwear and shoes out of season and other things hidden from view. If a niche was found for such a cabinet – perfect. If there is not enough space, it is better to leave a minimum in the hall: shoes and outerwear for every day, accessories and necessary trifles.
Adjust to the shape of the room: in a narrow hallway, long rows of low chests of drawers and an open clothes hanger are more suitable. If there is a niche in the layout, use all the space to the ceiling, and unload the other walls as much as possible. However, if you are staying on a closed cabinet over the entire wall, the hallway may turn out to be too boring and empty in design. Balance it with a decorative object against the opposite wall or leave several shelves open.
To visually free up space, use more open shelves, but keep order on them. This will help organizers and stylish boxes. Instead of drawers on shelves, wicker baskets can also be used – it looks easy and stylish.
Light colors, glass or transparent plastic and skillfully placed mirrors will also benefit the size of your hallway, at least visually.
Good rule: uniformity. Identical hangers, boxes, baskets and furniture completeness will make the entrance hall neater.
